Why connect to your Okta?
If you do not have an HRIS available, an alternative to connecting Pyn to your employee’s data would be to use Okta.

The employee directory including: email, division, location, and department
Each employee's manager
Start and termination dates (if available)
Job Information
Employment Type
If you have a custom attribute you would like to use please check with your Okta Administrator on set up requirements and limitations. Additional documentation from Okta is provided below in the FAQs.
In Okta
Login to Okta.
Navigate to Settings > API.
Under API Tokens choose the option to Create token.
Follow the prompts to create the token and ensure that you copy the Token Value to your clipboard.
In the top right hand corner, use the dropdown menu to copy the subdomain. Please use this rather than copying the subdomain from the URL.
In Pyn
Login to Okta.
Navigate to Integrations and select Okta.
Click the button that says "Connect."
Enter your Okta subdomain (<subdomain>.okta.com) and the API Token then click +Connect.
Your integration is now active!
What's Next?
When successfully activated the employee data will be reflected in your account. Please note that there are some demographics that will need to be turned on by a Pyn Admin before they are reflected.

Q: How often is new data being pulled into Pyn?
A: With our HRIS integration we are running hourly checks on data. This allows us to ensure that the most up-to-date information is being reflected in Pyn.
