  1. We go to *Cards* and locate the card we want to add spend limits on. Click on the card for the details to show up.

  2. First, we click on the "Spend Limits" to define Purchasing Limits multiple levels:

    1. Period: Is the Limit set to Daily, Monthly, or Weekly

    2. Amount: Here, we can specify the purchasing limit amount for the specified period.

    3. Number of Transactions: This helps us restrict the number of transactions allowed within the period (For example, 3 transactions per day)

    4. Limit Per Purchase (Optional): This restricts the maximum amount per transaction allowed for each transaction (For example, 10,000 Dhs is the maximum amount this cardholder can transact in)

Example: We want to limit a card to have a Purchasing limit of 100,000 AED per month with an unlimited number of transactions. Moreover, they can only spend 20,000 maximum each time they transact.

    Hence:

    1. Period: Monthly

    2. Amount: 100000

    3. Number of Transactions: 99999

    4. Limit Per Purchase: 20000

  3. Next is the ATM Limits where you can specify if this card is allowed to do ATM withdrawals. If they are allowed to do ATM withdrawals, you can set the following limits on it:

    1. Period: Is the Period, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly

    2. Amount: Here, you can specify the amount of money they are allowed to withdraw within the period

    3. Number of Withdrawals: This helps us restrict the number of withdrawals allowed within the period (For example, 3 withdrawals per Month)

    4. Limit Per Withdrawal (Optional): This restricts the maximum amount per withdrawal allowed at once (For example, 10,000 Dhs is the maximum amount this cardholder can withdraw at a time)

  4. Next section is Country Limits. First, we activate the Country limits and set it to Enabled. Then, we can choose multiple countries to restrict the spending to.

Note: If the country is limited to United Arab Emirates for example, and we tried to use the card on Google, the card will not work as Google is registered as a company in another country.

  5. Next, the Merchant Limit. There are two types of Merchant Limits:

    1. Expense Category: This helps us limit the spending to specific expense categories. For example, we are limiting this card to be used on Fuel & Online Marketing

    2. Merchant Groups: This helps us limit the spending to specific Merchants. For example, Adnoc & Google.

    3. Lastly, you can set up the Allowed Max Balance on the card. For example, the allowed max balance on the card is 100,000 and for any reason I try to top it up with more than that, it will give an error. This is a control provided as an extra security protocols so that cards cannot be loaded for more than what they are allowed for.
