Using the Redline Feature

How to Use the Redline Feature - You can request minor changes for 2D plans and 3D visualizations of Ready Projects.

qbiq’s Redline feature allows you to request minor adjustments or changes to a completed project without requiring an entirely new 2D layout or a redesign of the Rendering Suite. For details on what qualifies as a redline, refer to our Redline Guidelines article.

Click here for a video tutorial on how to submit a redline.

Note:

  • The Redline tool can only be used for projects labeled with a green tag and marked "Ready."

  • When processing redlines, qbiq adheres to the same turnaround time as regular projects, with a standard delivery time of 24 hours.

How to Use the Redline Tool?

When you receive a notification from qbiq that your project is ready and you want to make changes, follow these steps:

  1. Go to My Projects and locate the project you wish to update.

  2. Click on the Quick Actions button (“...”) next to the project.

  3. From the menu, select the Redline option.

  4. Use the Redline tool to mark the necessary changes on the floor plan preview, following the Redline guidelines.

  5. Once Completed, tap the Submit button.

There are two Redline categories: 2D Redline and 3D Redline

2D Redline:

This category involves requests and modifications specifically for the 2D-floor plans.

Examples of 2D Redline use-cases:

  • Removing walls or moving doors.

  • Swapping between rooms with the floor plan’s equivalent-sized facility (switching between two offices and a conference room).

  • Adding or rearranging furniture within a facility.

  • Adjusting the collaboration area's measurements, such as a pantry, expanding or reducing its size.

First, select the floor plan you want to modify. You will be able to do so by clicking on one of the floor plan alternatives:

  • Alternative A

  • Alternative B

  • Alternative C

Note:

If you wish to submit Redlines for all three alternatives, select one at a time. Once you complete all the Redline modification requests, you can press Submit.

Once you select the Alternative you would like to modify, a blue frame will mark your choice, and the matched floor plan will appear on the right-hand side with a toolbar on the left-hand side featuring:

  • Comments - you have two options for adding text comments;

    1. Add comments - Pin the relevant room you'd like to modify and write the requested modification. The text will only appear when clicking on the pin symbol and will not be visible directly on the floor plan.

    2. Add text comment - Write the requested comment directly on the top of the floor plan.

  • Draw freehand - This tool allows you to draw freehand lines or shapes directly on the floor plan, annotating the changes you'd like to make. You can adjust the line color and thickness as needed.

  • ↺ (Back Icon) - This allows you to undo the latest action.

  • Download - This feature lets you download a copy of the floor plan alternatives with the Redline changes you have requested. We recommend keeping a copy.

    Actions after typing or drawing:

    1. Standing on the drawn shape or text will enable you to drag it and place it elsewhere.

    2. Stand on one of the text box or shape’s corners to make the shape smaller or bigger. Then hold down the left-click button on the mouse and change the shape’s size.

3D Redline:

Use this feature to submit requests and modifications for the project’s virtual tour and rendered photos.

Examples of 3D Redline use cases:

  • Client logo change - If your client's logo is missing or needs to be replaced, drag and drop the image file or click on the pane to add the new logo. Once the reprocessing is completed, the new logo will appear on the project's cover and the Rendering Suite.

  • Changing the Rendering Suite’s design elements that were selected in the Visualization step, such as changing partitions from drywall to system.

  • The Text Box allows you to request specific changes to the Virtual Tour. For example, you could request that the flooring be converted from wood to concrete or that office walls be transformed from drywall to a glass system. Use the text box to communicate the required modifications.

After you’ve entered your desired change requests, press the Submit button to ensure your redline is successfully transmitted.

Important!

Redlines cannot be submitted for projects that have not been modified in more than two months.

Most accounts will be subject to a limit of two free revisions for each project. If you require more redlines, please submit a new project.
