You can connect to your QuantVPS from any Mac computer using the Windows App by Microsoft: a newer and more compatible version of the classic Remote Desktop app.

Note: We now recommend using the Windows App, not the older "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app. You can find it in the Mac App Store under the name Windows App by Microsoft.
Before You Start
Open your Setup Guide. It shows the same three steps as this article, with the buttons you need.
Sign in to your QuantVPS dashboard.
Click Control Panel in the sidebar on the left. Or click Manage Server on your VPS.
Open Setup Guide, then Connect to Your VPS. The guide shows the steps for the device you're on.

Step 1: Install Windows App
You connect with Microsoft's free Windows App. Already have it? Click I already have it in the guide and go to Step 2.
Open the Mac App Store and search for "Windows App" by Microsoft. Or click Download on the Mac App Store in your Setup Guide.
Click Get, then Open once it has installed. If Install shows after Get, click it. Your Mac may ask for your Apple Account password or Touch ID.
If Windows App shows a short tour, click Skip at the bottom right.
Step 2: Import Your RDP File
Your RDP file adds your VPS to Windows App for you. It fills in your IP address and username, so you don't type them in.
Click Download RDP file. Then choose how your VPS shows: One monitor, All my monitors or In a window. Not sure? Choose One monitor. To move files to your VPS, tick Share my drives in the menu before you choose.
Your browser saves the file to your Downloads folder at once. Its name starts with QuantVPS and ends in .rdp. The guide marks it No password inside: you paste your password when Windows App asks for it.
At the very top of your screen, click Connections in the menu bar. Then choose Import from RDP file… from its menu.
In the window that opens, click Downloads on the left. Click your RDP file, then click Import at the bottom right.
Your VPS is now under Saved Devices in Windows App.
Don't see Connections? Click the Windows App window first.
File not in Downloads? Look in the folder your browser saves files to.
Step 3: Sign In
In your browser, on the Setup Guide, click Copy password. A tick shows, and the button says Copied.
Switch back to Windows App: click its icon in the Dock, or press Command + Tab.
Under Saved Devices, double-click your VPS. Enter Your Credentials opens, with your username filled in.
Click Password and press Command + V to paste your password. Then click Continue.
The first time, Windows App may say it couldn't verify the certificate. That's normal for a new server. Click Continue.

Next Time You Connect
Open Windows App and double-click your VPS under Saved Devices. You don't need to download the file again.
Prefer to Type It In?
You can add your VPS to Windows App by hand instead. You copy your login details from the Control Panel and paste them in.
Add a New PC
In Windows App, click + at the top right of the window and choose Add PC.

Enter Your VPS IP Address
On your Control Panel, click Show login details. Copy your IP address from Connection details.
Switch back to Windows App. Click the PC name box at the top and press Command + V to paste your IP address.
You may optionally enter a friendly name like "My Trading VPS" to make it easier to identify.

Add Your User Account
Click the menu next to Credentials and choose Add Credentials. Older versions say User Account and Add User Account.
Copy your username from Connection details and paste it into Username. It's usually Administrator.
Copy your password the same way and paste it into Password.
Click Add to save your credentials.

Save and Connect
Back in the Add PC window, click Add at the bottom right. Your VPS shows under Saved Devices.
Double-click your VPS to connect. The first time, click Continue if Windows App says it couldn't verify the certificate.
After Connecting
Once you're connected:
Ready to use: your VPS comes with Chrome and TradingView installed, plus the platform you selected at checkout. Open them from the desktop and log in.
For other platforms, open Chrome on your VPS and download your preferred platform, like MetaTrader.
Log in and begin configuring your setup.
To leave, close the window with its red button at the top left. Your VPS stays online, market data keeps flowing and your strategies keep running.

Adjusting Your Display Resolution (Optional)
The Download RDP file menu sets how your VPS shows. To change the size later:
Open the Windows App but don't launch your VPS yet.
Click the Edit (pencil icon) next to your VPS connection.
Go to the Display tab.
Set the resolution to Custom and enter your preferred size (e.g., 1920 x 1080).
Click Save, then reconnect.

Troubleshooting Tips
If you run into any issues:
Windows App doesn't import the file: install Windows App first. It's free on the Mac App Store. Or open the file once: Control-click it in Downloads, choose Open With, then Windows App.
"We couldn't connect to the remote PC" (error code 0x204): download your RDP file again from your dashboard, so it has your current IP address. If your VPS just started, wait a few minutes. Otherwise, restart it from Manage Server in your dashboard. Some work, school and public networks block Remote Desktop. Try another network, such as your phone's hotspot.
The login fails: copy your password again from your dashboard and paste it. Don't type it. Check that the username is right. It's usually Administrator.
Confirm you've downloaded the correct app: Windows App by Microsoft.
Changed your password, or had a reinstall, upgrade or move? Update the password in your saved user account, or remove the saved credentials and add them again. To update it, click Windows App in the menu bar, then Settings. Open User Accounts (Credentials in some versions), select your account and paste your current password. If your IP address changed, download your RDP file again and import it.
Only one connection can use the same Windows account at a time. Signing in with that account from a second device, from inside the VPS, or from the browser console disconnects the first one with "another connection was made".
