Generate Character

This exciting piece of new technology allows our Pro Subscription users to create a character sheet in moments. Take the hassle out of copying and pasting multiple NPCs for your campaign, bring your pen and paper character online, convert your fillable PDF into a Quest Portal Character Sheet and turn your friends into Monster NPC Stat Blocks to see their Legendary Skills.

This is new technology, so we recommend checking for errors.

You can start a generation a character from three different locations:

You are presented with three options:

The top field is for text prompts. This could be a description of the character, a saying, or an instruction such as "Gnome, Thief, Level 5". You can leave this field blank or use in conjunction with another prompt.

The middle field is for uploading a file. You can add your character sheets, notes, exports from other platforms - whatever you want - to use as prompts for the generator. These can even be photos of your pen and paper character sheets, or photos of objects or people.

We currently support "pdf", "jpeg", "jpg" or "png" files types, with a file size maximum of 50mb. A PDF with multiple pages will be converted into multiple files, 1 per page.

Note: If a PDF has 5 or more pages, only the first 4 of them will be used by the Generator as a prompt.

The bottom field is for selecting a Character Sheet Template. Choose the Character sheet you would like the Generate Character feature to use when creating a character.

Note: We advise choosing a Character Sheet Template for system you are playing to get the best results. For non character sheets, such as NPCs for D&D 5e or a House Record for Dune, we recommend using a specialized character sheet template instead of the Character's sheets.

A Generated Character sheet is a like any other Universal Character sheet or Call of Cthulhu Enhanced Character sheet, with a single exception - you are able to give feedback on the character.

Using the three dot menu in the character sheet, an additional option "Feedback" is available. You can help us by letting us know what we can improve for future generations.

A banner also appears at the bottom of the sheet with the option to give us feedback. Please feel free to give us some constructive pointers for improvement, letting us know when there's been a failure, or if a character sheet change results in better results.

Whilst Generate Character is extremely exciting, especially when it saves time having to manually input over 100 NPCs for a module, it can be prone to errors - we recommend checking for accuracy.

The Generate Character feature takes the information from given a prompt, or series of prompts, and generates a character based on that information. It will extrapolate information from text, images, and from the Character Sheet Templates, and create a character sheet based on that.

As with any new technology, and as with AI generations in general, it is prone to mistakes. It is always best to check the generations made for accuracy, and to give us feedback so we can constantly improve the technology.
