How is inappropriate behavior discovered?

Quidd takes a "multi-net" approach to monitor, address, and prevent inappropriate behavior deemed unacceptable per its 2022 Community Policies. This includes:

  • Self-Reporting: in the apps on iOS and Android, collectors can report in appropriate Listings, Storyboards, and Profiles; such reporting alerts a dedicated team of community members and Quidd employees that review the reported behavior and takes action (or not) on a case-by-case basis using the Suspension Framework below

  • Automated Monitoring: additionally, Quidd runs automated back-end services to regularly monitor for and detect inappropriate activity; in some cases, such inappropriate activity is prevented, as in the case of in-app use of offensive language, while in others, Quidd is notified of such behavior as or after it is taking place

  • Manual Monitoring: Quidd employees a network of internal and external team members to remain vigilant across its apps and official social media channels to manually report against bad behavior that slips through the first two nets

Additionally, a blocking feature exists in the apps on iOS and Android so victims of inappropriate behavior can not only report such behavior, but can also remove the offender's ability to display such content to the aggrieved collector at that moment and going forward.

How are suspensions handled?

In 2022, Quidd is simplifying its framework for managing suspensions.

The three latest changes are:

  • Simplified Three Strikes: individual reports of bad behavior no longer vary in their weight; one bad act counts as the same strike against the offending collector as other bad acts

  • Withdraw: if a collector receives their fourth strike and is permanently suspended, the collector will retain the ability to sign into their account and withdraw proceeds of their sales, if eligible, indefinitely*

  • Mint: if a collector receives their fourth strike and is permanently suspended, the collector will retain the ability to sign into their account and mint their eligible items on-chain, indefinitely

*The only instance where the ability to withdraw will remain blocked and the collector will be ineligible to withdraw their Sales Proceeds -- under any circumstances -- is in the instance of Fraudulent Transaction Activity.

Each bad act will result in a suspension. Successive bad acts, say from Strike 1 to Strike 3, will result in extended periods of suspension.

What features are prohibited in the event of a suspension?

The following in-app features are disabled when a collector is suspended:

  • Aftermarket purchases

  • Aftermarket sales (post a Listing)

  • Storyboards

  • DM'ing anyone that is not already a friend

  • Cannot qualify for an award during suspension period (loss of value leaderboard status)

  • Account will not come up in a search

As bad acts accrue to a collector's account, the length of time of each suspension will increase:

  • Strike 1: 24 hour suspension

  • Strike 2: 3 day suspension

  • Strike 3: 2 week suspension

  • Out: permanent suspension (withdraw and minting still available)
