Learn how Admins can create and publish a new plan

Updated over 3 weeks ago

To design and roll out a new compensation plan in QuotaPath, complete the following steps:

  1. Create plan

  2. Assign members

  3. Review plan

  4. Publish plan

  5. Request plan verification

Continue reading for detailed instructions on completing each of the above steps.

Create plan

To create a new compensation plan, navigate to the 'Plans' page in the left-hand navigation and click '+Add Plan' in the top right-hand corner. Only Admins can create new plans.

Building a plan

If you choose to build a plan from scratch, you'll first name the plan, and from there, you'll add the first component to the plan. For detailed instructions on adding a component to a plan, please visit this article.

After creating the first component, you can finish setting up the plan by adding additional components to the plan, syncing the plan to integrated data, assign members to the plan, or jump to the plan details to further manage the plan and preview plan performance.

Use AI-Powered Plan Builder

You can also choose to use the AI-Powered Plan Builder to begin building your comp plan. If you have a comp plan document, you can upload it or describe your comp plan using natural language to generate a plan framework.

Once the comp plan framework has been built, you can refine it with additional prompts or apply the components to the plan.

Review plan

Once the plan has been created, it will automatically enter a 'Draft' state. This means that only Admins can view and manage the plan until it is published in an 'Active' state.

To finish designing the plan before publishing it, you can preview plan performance data and make further edits to the plan from the plan details page. To navigate to the plans details page, click the plan from the 'Draft' tab on the Plans page.

From the plan details page, Admins can do the following to finish designing the plan before publishing:

  • Edit plan or component names

  • Assign members

  • Add or edit components

  • Edit component weighting or member compensation (if Automatic Commission Rates are enabled on the component)

  • Manage individual quotas

  • Manage individual rates

  • Duplicate or delete plan or component

  • Add or edit component data mappings

  • Add plan document & request plan verification

  • View plan performance:

    • Total earnings

    • Average effective rate

    • Plan earnings by member

    • Plan attainment by member

Publish plan

Once you've finished designing the plan, click the 'Publish plan' button in the top right-hand corner of the plan details page.

When publishing a plan, you'll have the option to notify plan assignees via email. From there, you can also request plan verification.

Assign members

If you publish a draft plan and no members have been assigned to the plan, you'll be prompted to assign members after publishing:

If you choose not to assign members at this time, you can always visit the Plans page later and assign members by navigating to the plan and selecting 'Assign members' from the kebob menu on the right side of the plan.

Request plan verification

After publishing a draft plan with members already assigned, you'll be automatically prompted to request plan verification.

If you did not have members assigned to the plan at the time of publishing, after assigning members, you can later request plan verification by navigating to the plan and selecting 'Request verification' from the kebob menu on the right side of the plan.
