How to set up Single Sign-On using Okta for your QuotaPath workspace

As an Admin, you can set up your QuotaPath workspace to allow users to log in to QuotaPath using Okta as a Single Sign-On provider. Please continue reading for a step-by-step guide on how to set up.

Requirements

  1. Install the QuotaPath application in your Okta instance

  2. If you haven't already, sign up and create a QuotaPath workspace (www.quotapath.com)

  3. The Okta Single Sign-On integration is only available for workspaces on the Growth and Premium tier

Supported Features

  • Service Provider initiated SSO (OpenID Connect Authentication)

How to Set Up

In order to set up the QuotaPath integration in your Okta instance, please follow the below steps:

  1. Add the QuotaPath application to your Okta applications by visiting this link.

  2. Within Applications in Okta, go to the QuotaPath application, and then to Assignments, and assign users to the QuotaPath application that will be QuotaPath users.

After installing the QuotaPath app in Okta, you will also need to obtain some information to send to QuotaPath.

Gather information from Okta

  1. In the Okta admin page, click on the QuotaPath application and then navigate to the Sign On tab.

  2. Copy the values of Client ID and Client secret (click the eye button to toggle the visibility)

  3. There should be a section that has a link titled OpenID Provider Metadata. Click this link. In the JSON document shown, look for a key titled “issuer” and copy the URL value.

Enter information into QuotaPath

Once you have all the information, go to Settings in the left-hand navigation of the QuotaPath application. From there, go to Account and scroll down to find Okta in the Security section. Enter the information below into the fields:

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret

  • Issuer URL

Last, use the dropdown to choose whether you would like to limit single sign-on to QuotaPath via Okta only.

Single Sign-On via Okta

Upon receiving the email invite to join your QuotaPath workspaces, users can click the call-to-action to log in to QuotaPath. After reaching the below log in screen, the user will click the Okta icon to authenticate via Okta.
