Customer Estimate Actions — Reopen a Declined Estimate & Request Changes

Customers can reopen a declined estimate, request changes instead of walking away, and accept an estimate automatically by paying the deposit, all from their estimate link. Available on all plans.

Available On: All plans.

What Can Customers Do From Their Estimate Link?

When you send an estimate, your customer gets a link where they can review, approve, or decline it. QuoteIQ's June 2026 update gave customers two more actions from that same link, and both are designed to save deals you would otherwise lose: reopening an estimate they previously declined, and requesting changes instead of walking away.

Reopen a Declined Estimate ("Change My Mind")

If a customer declines an estimate and later changes their mind, they no longer have to call you and ask for a new quote. They can reopen the declined estimate right from their estimate link, and it becomes active again with all the original services and pricing intact.

You do not have to rebuild anything. A declined estimate that gets reopened turns a "no" back into a live opportunity.

You can also reopen a declined estimate from your side: editing a declined estimate automatically marks it as Open again. See How to Create & Send an Estimate.

Modify Requests

Instead of declining an estimate that is almost right, customers can request changes. When a customer submits a modify request:

  • A banner appears on the estimate so you see the request immediately.

  • The request gets its own row in the activity log, so there is a record of what was asked and when.

You review the request, update the estimate, and send it back. The conversation stays attached to the estimate instead of getting lost in texts and voicemails.

Deposits That Accept the Estimate

If your estimate requires a deposit, paying the deposit now automatically moves the estimate to Accepted. No separate approval step for the customer, and no chasing a signature after the money already arrived. Your default deposit amount pulls from your company settings, so you do not have to re-enter it on every estimate.

Every Open Is Tracked

Every time a customer opens an estimate, invoice, or schedule link, that view is logged in the activity feed. Combined with reopen and modify requests, you get a full picture of how engaged a customer is with your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my customer reopen an estimate they declined?

Yes. Customers can reopen a previously declined estimate from their estimate link, and it becomes active again with the original services and pricing. You can also reopen it from your side by editing the declined estimate.

How do I know when a customer requests changes?

A banner appears on the estimate and the request is recorded as its own row in the activity log, so you see it immediately and have a record of it.

Does paying a deposit accept the estimate?

Yes. When a customer pays the deposit on an estimate, the estimate automatically moves to Accepted.

Can I see when a customer viewed my estimate?

Yes. Every open of a public estimate, invoice, or schedule link is logged in the activity feed.

Which plans include these customer actions?

All plans. These actions are part of the standard estimate experience on every QuoteIQ plan.
