Merging a Relationship

Merging relationships in Accelerate: A guide for administrators on how to merge two relationships within the same account manager.

Accelerate includes the option to merge two relationships. This is useful if you have two overlapping relationships that can be merged together.

Info: You must have administrator rights to merge relationships


Preparation

You can only merge relationships of the same type and belong to the same account manager.
If either of these conditions are not met, please edit one of the relationships so that they are!

Info: When performing a merge, one of the relationships will be considered the source and one the target. If there is a clash of data (if one has a name of QV Systems, the other having QV Systems Limited), then the TARGET relationship will win.


Performing a merge

To merge click ‘Relationships’ on the side menu.

Click the pencil icon on the relationship of your choice. (This is the source relationship).

Then click the ‘Merge’ button - (This will only be visible if you are an administrator).

Once you click ‘Merge’, the following menu will be displayed.

Select the relationship you wish to merge with and then enter MERGE into the confirmation box. Then click ‘Save’.

Merging cannot be undone. So merge with care!

After clicking save, another popup will ensure you wish to proceed with the merge:

Click ‘OK’ and your relationships will be merged! As well as the core relationship information, all addresses, bank account, opportunities, etc. will also be merged. The source relationship will be deleted.


Bulk Merging

If you have a large number of relationships that need to be merged, this can be done using the Dataloader Bulk Merge Relationship functionality.
