You can record and send video messages right from your inbox or pitch form, no separate app required. Videos show up as embedded clips within the message thread, so the conversation stays in one place.

How to record and send a video message from your inbox

  1. Open the message thread you want to respond to in your inbox.

  2. Look for the record video option within the message box.

  3. Record your video live, right there in the browser. You can record up to 2 minutes.

  4. Once you're happy with it, send it just like a regular message. It'll appear as an embedded clip in the thread.

Recording a video message from the pitch form

Experts can also add a video directly while submitting a pitch.

  1. When filling out your pitch, look for the record video option within the pitch form. It's underneath the text box.

  2. Record your video live, right there in the browser. You can record up to 2 minutes.

  3. Submit your pitch as usual. The video, along with a transcript of the video, will be included alongside your written response.

  4. You can chose to skip out on adding any text and just use the video as the pitch itself.

Note: for PR Representatives, to include a video, you will have to upload it as an attachment. This will not embed it, but we are working on a way to get this embed feature work better for those representing others.

Transcripts

Videos record on the platform come with an automatic transcript. This makes it easy for reporters to skim the content of a video without watching the whole thing. They will have the option to view the transcript.

Requesting a video message

Media users can also ask a PR rep or expert to include a video along with their pitch. If a reporter requests one, you'll see that request in the thread, and can record a video in the same way.

Why use video messages

A video message is a chance to stand out. It shows reporters you're prepared, personable, and can make your pitch more memorable in a crowded inbox. A short video can carry more trust and personality than another paragraph in an inbox, which makes your pitch easier to remember when a reporter is comparing several at once.
