Here's how to make the most of your Qwoted account as a Media user in need of expertise/commentary:

Submit a Request

The Qwoted network includes over 100,000 experts. Creating a source request is the easiest, most hands-off way to get connected with new sources.

Even if your ideal source isn't on Qwoted, submitting a Request will prompt communications teams in our network to suggest similar experts for your story that might be a fit.

Add Details to your Request

Qwoted uses NLP (Natural Language Processing) and other powerful technology to match you with relevant experts. The more information that is provided by you, the better our system can match you with the right kind of sources.

It's best to be as specific as possible in terms of listing what you need within your request. For Requests that are more niche/narrow, keep in mind that requiring too much from experts upfront can cause them to shy away from submitting their comments, especially if they're only able to answer some of your questions.

Include Information About the Outlet

Including the name of the outlet you're writing for or plan to pitch will help with the quality and quantity of pitches you receive.

If you're not working with a well-known outlet, experts may need help understanding the value of pitching your request. Adding demographic info, reach, and details on what the publication covers will inform PR reps and experts how their voice can be important to your audience, and will encourage more submissions.

Broaden Search Parameters and use Filters when browsing our network of Experts

Specific search terms will yield specific results, but using general terms can net more diverse sources. If you're seeking sources who can discuss travel in Asia, use broad terms like "International Travel" instead of "China." You can then use the Contact button to reach out directly if you identify any relevant Sources that would be relevant to your story's subject matter.

If you’re looking for businesses or experts located in a specific region or city, “Filter By Location” is a great option. If you only cover stories in, for example, Madison, Wisconsin, using our Location filter will serve as a key time-saver.
