What's the difference between muting and blocking?
The mute and block features give you control over who can reach you on Qwoted. Whether you're dealing with off-topic pitches or just need a quieter inbox, here's how each option works.
Muting a user turns off email notifications for their messages. Their pitches will still appear in your inbox, you just won't get alerted when they come in. In your inbox sidebar, a bell icon with a line through it indicates a muted user.
Inside the conversation, you'll also see a "Muted Alerts" notice in the top right corner.
Blocking a user stops their messages from reaching you entirely. They won't be notified that they've been blocked, and they won't be able to view your profile or see your source requests.
You can unblock someone at any time by opening the conversation and selecting "Unblock" in the top right corner.
A note on reporting: Reporting is a separate action used when a source has sent an irrelevant, AI-generated, or off-topic pitch. Submitting a report takes you to a form, and our team will review it and take appropriate action. Learn more about flagging pitches here.
Where to Find These Features
You can mute, block, or report a user from two places:
Your Inbox
Navigate to your inbox and click the three-dot menu on any conversation to access these options.
Your Source Request Page
From your source request page, they are located under the Source or PR profile name in the "Your Pitches" section.
When choosing to mute a user, you’ll have the option to mute pitches and messages from that user either permanently or for the next 30 days. Muted pitches will not be delivered to your inbox.
If you have any further questions related to the these features, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at support@qwoted.com or popping into the live in-browser chat.
