Raconteo's artificial intelligence has only one job: turning your answers into a story that sounds like you. It does nothing else with your life.
What it does: - it reads your answers in order to write a coherent story in your own voice - it draws on your profile (period, region, family) to ask questions that make sense and to set the scene. That is all.
What it does not do: - your memories are not used to train our suppliers' models - your data is never sold - your stories are not reused to write somebody else's book.
Which technology, exactly? Raconteo uses Google Gemini for the writing. As our data controller is established in the European Union, the terms that apply provide that Google does not train its models on your content. In return, let us be precise: Google keeps the requests sent and the texts returned for a limited period, in order to detect abusive use of its service, and that checking takes place outside the European Union. So it is not an immediate disappearance, and we would rather tell you than round it off. It changes nothing essential: this content feeds no model, and your book remains yours.
Your photographs never see the AI. No photograph you add is sent to the artificial intelligence. Your family's faces go through no model at all. Your photographs are placed in your book, then passed to the printer when it is being made. This is a choice we made from the very start.
We do not work alone, and we say so. Hosting, artificial intelligence, printing, payment: each supplier is named in our privacy policy on raconteo.com, together with its role. Nobody else is involved.
The final text belongs to you. Everything written from your answers is yours. You read it over, you change it, you export it as a PDF, you delete it: it is your story, not ours.
