Hosting Compatibility

Most hosting plans are compatible. Here's what you need to know to be sure yours will be too.

If you are using the Hosted Checkout software, you'll want to make sure you have a current PHP version installed and also the SOAP Client Class.

On rare occasion, we've found some clients (especially with InMotion Hosting) will show up with a very old version of PHP installed.  That can cause fatal errors but is easily remedied by having the hosting company update PHP.

The SOAP Client Class is the most common issue we run into with hosting that is incompatible with our software.  The SOAP Client is a communication protocol that needs to be installed so that your site can communicate with Vantiv's Hosted Checkout platform.

SOAP is server software typically controlled by your hosting company. Very few of the customers who have come to us have servers that are incompatible with SOAP.  iPage is one hosting company we've run into this on a number of times.

Since hosting is very much a commodity service in most cases, if your host is suggesting that you install SOAP or upgrade to a more expensive platform, maybe you should consider hosting elsewhere.

To determine if your site has the SOAP Client class installed, head to your Dashboard, and then under WooCommerce choose the System Status option:

Once on the System Status page, scroll down to the Server Environment block and look for the SOAP Client on the screen:

If it's Green or has a check mark, you're good to go.  If it's red or shows an error, you'll need to resolve the issue before you can test our software.
