After you've registered or migrated your domain, you can link it to any of your Boxes in just two steps.

Step 1: Connect your domain and Box

There are currently two ways to connect your domain with your Box:

Method 1: Add the domain via the Box administration

Go to the overview of the Box you want to connect your domain to. In the Domains section, click on the pencil symbol next to the heading Displayed domain.

From the drop-down menu choose a domain, select the desired domain and click on Save all to confirm. The dashboard will now automatically set the selected domain as the new Displayed domain.

Note: The dashboard will also create all the necessary DNS records for you, i.e. an A record for your domain with and without www.

Method 2: Connect your domain via the domain administration

Alternatively, you can also link your Box and domain via the domain administration. Open the domain administration by clicking on the Domains tab at the top of the page.

Now click in the Domains menu on the DNS options of the domain you want to link. This will take you to the domain administration of the respective domain.

Here you'll find the menu Connect with Box. Click on the drop-down menu, select your Box and then Connect to confirm the connection between the two.

As with the other method mentioned above, the dashboard will automatically create all necessary DNS records for your domain here too.

Step 2: Wait for DNS records to be updated

After you've connected the domain and the Box, it may take a while until the DNS records are fully updated across the internet. This process, known as propagation, usually takes a couple of hours, but it can also take up to 48 hours.

In your Box overview, the status of the connected domains is displayed in the section Domains. If you can see a green tick next to the domain, it means the domain has been set up correctly.

If an orange exclamation mark "!" is shown next to the domain instead, it means it has not yet been completely updated. Here you simply have to wait until the green tick is displayed.
