FAQs

What happens if the contractor or client miss the timesheet deadline?

It goes onto next week’s run

When will my Umbrella company pay me?

Umbrella companies have their own timelines between receiving funds (and remittance) from Raise and paying funds, so you should always bear this in mind – it’s not an instant transaction from when we send funds.

Are payments instant?

If it's GBP, it's instant. Raise sends everything via Faster Payment so it hits instantly. Very occasionally, we may need to send payment via BACS which typically takes three days.

EUR and USD payments take longer to hit accounts – allow up to 3 working days

Who sends me my payslip?

If working under an Umbrella company, they will be responsible for calculating all your PAYE taxes and paying contractor's their actual take home pay. They will also supply your payslip, p45, and be able to explain the breakdown of pay.

Who is responsible for submitting timesheets?

While we’ll take reasonable measures to encourage contractors and consultants to complete their timesheets, and clients to sign them off, our responsibility as a business is to pay approved timesheets. It is not to ensure timesheets are submitted or approved. Ultimately, the contractor is responsible for submitting their timesheet.

Can I see the status of a timesheet?

If an agency, client, contractor ever wants to know the status of a timesheet, they'll be able to see it on the platform.

How quickly can a placement be set up?

Onboarding a placement takes time – it is not just a data entry exercise, onboarding a placement takes on a very important role in preventing fraud and protecting our credit risk. Therefore, an agency should never assume because they’ve sent a placement Wednesday evening that Raise will pay their ltd company contractor on the Thursday, for example. You will be able to see the status of a placement on the platform or can speak to one of the team.
