Receiving timely alerts about emptying or overflowing troughs can have significant impact to your operations. This guide explains how to set up alerts and how they work.

Viewing your notifications

Trough Direct alerts appear on the Notifications page in MyRanchbot. You can also receive alerts via SMS or email, simply enable them via Profile Settings. Each alert notification links to the relevant Trough Direct that triggered the alert.

How to acknowledge your alert notifications

  1. Go to the Notifications page, you'll land on 'New Notifications'.

  2. Click 'Acknowledge' on the notification.

  3. The notification will move into the 'All' list.

Setting up your alert notifications

Trough Direct automatically detects the maximum height of your trough (making setup even faster) so you can easily select an alert threshold based on percentages calculated off the maximum height detected.

ℹ️ Note: as trough levels changes from day to day, Trough Direct continuously adjusts for the maximum observed water level.

Types of alerts

Overflow (Warning)

This tells you when your trough may be spilling due to excess water and can help reduce water waste. You'll need to enter a value in inches as you cannot set a percentage level of more than 100%.

Trough Low (Warning) and (Critical)

These alerts lets you know when the trough water level is low. Select a percentage level for warning and critical depending on your individual setup.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select the Alerts tab

  3. Fill in the thresholds for Overflow and Trough Low

  4. Select the team members who you want to receive alerts for

  5. Click Save
