You may have already reviewed the basics of portfolios in Step 4: Using Portfolios.

Portfolios are an efficient way to group companies, making it easier for you to manage risk by running a range of reports for deeper analysis.

Steps to Creating Your Portfolios

1. Identify the Companies You Want to Include

Determine the group of companies you’d like to analyze. If you need guidance, our Client Services team can provide best-practice recommendations tailored to your needs.

2. Navigate to the Portfolio Manager

The Portfolio Manager, located under Rating Analysis, allows you to:

  • Create new portfolios

  • Edit or Delete existing portfolios

2. Create or Edit a Portfolio

Simply click Create to build a new portfolio, or use the Edit and Delete options to update the ones you already have.

3. Add Companies to Your Portfolio

Companies can be added to new or existing portfolios:

  • One at a time, or

  • In bulk from other existing portfolios

4. Save Your Portfolio

Once you’re done adding or removing companies:

  • For a new portfolio: Name your portfolio and click Create.

  • For an existing portfolio: After adding or removing companies, click Update to save your changes.

5. Edit or Maintain Your Portfolio

To update companies in a portfolio, return to Portfolio Manager and select Edit.

Please note that RapidRatings does not automatically maintain portfolios based on changes to your supplier lists.

Why Portfolios Matter

Creating your own portfolios is a valuable time-saving tool, as it allows you to narrow down company lists and enables you to analyze different segments more efficiently.

Every RapidRatings client also has two Master Portfolios:

  • Master Portfolio (All Companies): A repository of all private companies you’ve rated in the system, along with selected public companies.

  • Master Portfolio (Private Companies): A repository of all private companies rated specifically for your organization.

You can find out more about portfolio types here: Portfolio Types.

All set on your portfolio? Make sure you take advantage of ongoing supplier monitoring tools with Portfolio Alerts.
