About domains

A domain is the URL or web address where your members go to find your portal online. By default, your portal was given a rarecircles.com URL when you signed up for RareCircles.

To change the web address that's displayed to customers while they browse your online store, you need to use a custom domain, such as www.example.com. You can use domains that you buy from any third-party domain provider.

Using a domain that matches your brand can help you build trust in your membership offering(s).

If you want to change the web address that's displayed to customers while they browse your online store, then you need to add a custom domain, such as www.membership.example.com.

Follow the steps below to add a domain to RareCircles.

Step 1: Configure your DNS settings

To complete this procedure, you need to have the following CNAME record cname.rarecircles.com.

To configure your DNS settings, you will need to login to your third party domain provider.

  1. On your domain provider’s website, log in to your account.

  2. Find the DNS settings or domain management area.

  3. Add or edit your existing CNAME record to point to the CNAME cname.rarecircles.com.. Be sure to include the period at the end of the domain.

  4. Add your desired domain in the name field (membership.example.com).
