Profile removal/deletion

We host a profile for every agent in the industry

Updated this week

RateMyAgent maintains agent and agency profiles based on information directly supplied to RateMyAgent by an agent or their agency, or by sourcing publicly available information which is compiled and analysed.

Any real estate agent who is featured on a residential property advertisement that is or has been for sale within the past 12 months will have a profile on RateMyAgent.

In the instance of an agency being permanently closed or an agent having left the industry, these profiles can be removed. Just ask to speak to a team member. To remove these profiles, the business owner or the agent themselves must contact RateMyAgent directly via email, providing the required verification details, such as recent activities or confirming agency closure.

Active real estate agents

If you are still in the real estate industry, however do not wish to use your profile, you can unclaim it, this will then display a disclaimer on your profile to show that you do not have a hand in the information displayed.

The disclaimer: "This individual or business has not claimed this profile. Even though this profile is on RateMyAgent, this does not mean they endorse the site, is associated with the site, or confirms the listings or sales data information which we display about them, or any other publicly available information, to be accurate in any way. Read more"

Maintaining profiles for all agents and offices ensures that potential vendors and buyers have access to a comprehensive resource when making decisions. If we were to delete profiles, we would no longer be offering this complete view of the industry, which is central to our business model and responsibility to the consumer.

Agents and offices can claim their profiles, allowing them to manage and enhance their online presence. For those who choose not to claim their profiles, we still maintain them using publicly available information to ensure the platform's integrity. This approach allows us to remain a reliable source of information for consumers while giving agents and offices control over how they are represented.

We will not be able to fulfil any requests for active agent or agency profiles to be removed.

What should a business do if an agent has moved on?

....the agent should be removed from the team list, if they are included in the agency profile.

Since RateMyAgent is designed to give consumers information and reviews for agents, RateMyAgent agent profiles will reflect their full career's worth of history of sales and reviews. They will keep the one profile and update it for their next agency.

It's for this reason we will not remove/delete agent profiles, remove listings from agent profiles, swap them for other agents or stop agents from being able to collect reviews on past sales they worked on as well.

If an agent is no longer working in the real estate industry, their profile can be deleted but they will need to contact us directly, as all of their reviews will be deleted and deleting an agent profile is permanent. The process is straightforward, and once a profile is deleted, it will no longer appear on RateMyAgent. However, cached pages may still exist online, which are beyond the platform's control. Additionally, to process the request for profile deletion, you may be required to provide details such as the name associated with your RateMyAgent profile to ensure accurate record identification. Agency owners or agents should send a direct email to RateMyAgent explaining their request. Profiles with sales or reviews in the past 12 months generally cannot be removed unless the agent directly initiates the request. Accurate verification details, like the agent’s name, are crucial for a successful request.

Can you attach reviews/listings from your old business to current one?

Your past sales and reviews remain on your agent profile (if you have kept the same one and updated it to new employer).

However, they will not be added to your new agency or be reflected as listed/sold by them.

If more detail is sought by clicking into the property information on a property or review on your profile, it will display that the property was sold by the true listing agency at that time. This is as to not mislead consumers and attribute reviews/solds to an agency that was not involved with that particular transaction.
