Where does RateMyAgent get its data?

Understanding where your data comes from

Updated over a week ago

The data that RateMyAgent relies on to calculate real estate agent and brokerage statistics are gathered in three ways.

  1. RateMyAgent collects supplementary listing and sale information from any sources freely available in the public domain. This information will obviously not include any off-market transaction details or properties that were publicly advertised without a complete address. Publicly available data must undergo strict verification to ensure accuracy. Verification ensures that transactions and listings meet the platform’s standards for accuracy and completeness, emphasizing actionable data.

  2. RateMyAgent has partnerships with several Multiple Listing Services and Associations across the country. Through these partnerships, we obtain data by direct IDX or RESO Web API. Email us if you would like to help us partner with your MLS provider.Specific partnerships include organizations like Georgia MLS and First Multiple Listing Service, Inc., which integrate region-specific MLS data into the platform.

  3. RateMyAgent allows agents to manually submit listings from the Properties section of their user profileAgents and administrators can also leverage Data Feed software such as MyDesktop, PortPlus, and Multiarray to ensure listings are up-to-date.
