Who’s ready for the Agent of the Year awards? You can find all the answers to commonly asked questions below!

  • How are the results calculated?

Customer satisfaction is key!

  1. Your Review/Sales Ratio (RSR) (the number of vendor reviews received as a proportion of the properties you sell) is one of the most important factors in winning an Award. You receive this score in your Monday emails from us and can find it on your dashboard. This is across the whole system, we DO NOT have suburb level RSR's. If your RMA score is low, your overall awards score will be impacted.

  2. In addition to this, we look at the total number of properties sold as the Lead agent in the calendar year. eg. the 2023 awards are based on the 2022 calendar year etc.

  3. The average sales value of properties sold in the calendar year.

By chasing your reviews and bumping your RSR, this will help you win an Agent of the Year Award. If you request a vendor review for every single property you have sold as a LEAD agent you will also be eligible for a Trusted Badge!

  • I’m sitting at the top of the rankings, does that mean I’ll win the award?

Rankings DO NOT determine who wins an award. The metrics used are inherently different and run on a different time-frame. Calculations for awards are stated above and an outline of how rankings work can be found here.

  • Why am I at the top of the rankings and not the leaderboard?

This leaderboard is based on the awards metrics, which as mentioned above, is not the same as Rankings. The leaderboard represents your up-to-date and accurate standing for the 2022 AOYA at a suburb level, there is no leaderboard for any other categories and your sales and average sale price is based on the current calendar year only, whereas rankings cover the last 365 days.

What are non-office-based agencies eligible for?

Online real estate agencies who are listed on RMA at a national level are only eligible for Regional and Suburb awards. Online agencies split into locations or regions are eligible for all categories.

  • Some of my reviews have been removed, why is this?

This likely means you have reviews on your profile that have not gone through the correct verification process. Every single Vendor review on your profile must go through the correct verification process or it will be flagged in our system. We have a zero-tolerance policy for Award Fraud and in line with our Terms and Conditions, we have the right to remove content with or without notifying you before its removal.

  • I work in a team, am I eligible to win an award? (AUS)

The AOYA do not currently support teams. If you have been identified as being in a team and all reviews have been pooled onto one profile, the awards team will split them up between you and your teammate. We recommend that you send out review requests for BOTH profiles in order to avoid this. Requesting reviews from both profiles will also help boost your agency-level RSR.

  • I work in a team, am I eligible to win an award? (NZ)

For the 2023 awards we are trialing a 'Team Profile' award. This is a National Top 5 award as is limited to teams of agents who have a 'Team Profile' on RMA, this is separate to the individual agent profiles you have and requires a subscription.

  • Will there be an award for Property Management?

You bet! We will be awarding top agency for suburb, state, city and country for amazing work in Property Management. This is currently only available in Australia. You can find out more about the Property Management awards here.

  • I work in development. Am I eligible to win an Agent of the Year award?

Agents with more than 50% of their total reviews relating to developments or land are not eligible to participate in awards. This is to ensure an even playing field among our users.

  • Can I win a Rising Star award two years in a row?

An agent can only win the Rising Star award once. Agents are automatically eligible for the Rising Star award if they have sold their very first listing within the last 3 years and have at least 5 sold properties & 5 vendor reviews within the last calendar year. The metrics for Rising Star are the exact same as they are for any other category.

  • Why is there a City and Suburb award with the same name?

The suburb award encompasses the addresses of the properties that have only that specific suburb. The city award is made up of mutiple suburbs in that area/region.

For example, there is an award for the City of Geelong in Victoria. The city award encompasses the whole area made up 20 suburbs - for example North Geelong, Geelong West, Newtown.

There is a suburb award for Geelong as well which is properties in the middle of the Geelong area which have Geelong as the suburb on the address. This is a much smaller area and includes less properties, just like the other suburbs inside the City of Geelong.
