Can a review be removed from RateMyAgent?

It is important to remember that these reviews are the opinions of your clients, and that is what the site is built for. If we removed all of the negative reviews, there would be no power in the positive ones.

Every "not recommended" review comes through to the Head of Customer Experience Manager before going live onto the site. These are carefully read and will only be posted if they do not breach any of the following rules:

In some cases we may not publish a review on RateMyAgent. A review might get rejected because of one of the following.

  • containing inappropriate language

  • completely unrelated to an agent's professional practice

  • submitted by a competitor or related person

  • submitted by someone who did not sell or buy/ tenant or rent the property or action on such person's behalf.

Before you ask us if your “bad” review review can be removed...

The answer is unlikely. If the review is from a genuine client and doesn’t breach our policies it will stay on your profile. We have policies to follow and we are bound by consumer law so we CANNOT remove reviews unless for the reasons listed above.

Please keep in mind that if it is a "Not Recommended" review the our support team have checked it, and approved it before it was accepted onto your profile.

Need some help with dealing with a negative review?

We are always here to help. We can give you advice on how to construct a positive reply, and help you to understand how to use bad reviews as a positive point.

Here is a good article to get your started:

What if the client wants their review removed?

If the person that has submitted a review (good or bad) wishes to have it removed or edited, this will be done immediately and without question.

All they need to do is email support@ratemyagent.com

This MUST come from the email that they used to submit the review originally.
