Connecting your WordPress Plugin to the API and user details

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Make sure you have downloaded and installed the WordPress plugin before reading this guide.

This guide provides step-by-step guidance on integrating RateMyAgent's API keys and seamlessly connecting it with third-party platforms, especially WordPress.

Step 1

Once you have downloaded and installed the plugin, you will need to select the RateMyAgent plugin from the left hand side menu

Step 2

Click Get Started to begin the onboarding flow

Step 3

Select which country you operate in. For this example, we will be demo-ing with an American agent.

Step 4

For this step, you will need to generate a Client ID and a Client secret. This is accessed via the logged-in RateMyAgent profile of either the Agent or Office who's installing the WordPress plugin.

Click generate your keys here or you can click the bottom links for your region:

** Make sure you are already logged into the correct
RateMyAgent account before visiting the link. **

Step 5

Click Generate Security Keys

Step 6

You will now need to copy & paste your Client ID and Client secret into the WordPress onboarding flow. This secret will only be displayed once so make sure you copy it.

Step 7

Click Confirm after pasting your Client ID and Client secret into the relevant boxes.

Step 8

Copy the Profile Code from the API screen and paste it into the relevant box back on the WordPress onboarding. Then select Confirm

Step 8

You're all done! Now it's time to add reviews and/or listings to your website. For help with that, read this article.
