SB 24 was signed into Law on October 11, 2019 by Governor Newsom. The law, which is the first of its kind, will begin on January 1, 2023.

Oppose SB 24 - Stop College Campus Abortions

SB 24 would require student health care clinics at all 34 California public college campuses to offer “medication” abortions up to 10 weeks of pregnancy.
Senator Connie Leyva argues that “students should not have to travel off campus or miss class or work responsibilities in order to receive care that can easily be provided at a student health center.” Senator Leyva introduced this bill last year, but former Governor Jerry Brown vetoed it because “the services required by this bill are widely available off-campus.”
NOW Govenor Newsom’s Department of Finance surprisingly recommended that the legislature OPPOSE SB 24! This is a window of opportunity to contact your Assemblymember and let your voice be heard!

Not only does this kill an unborn child up to 10 weeks of life, but would establish a potentially unconstitutional program that will violate the conscience rights of both students and campus healthcare center personnel.
This bill would turn colleges into “abortion vendors.”
SB 24 has passed in the California Senate and Assembly. Please contact Governor Newsom and urge him to oppose SB 24.
