Extremely concerning to many professors, educators, and workers in the STEM field is the planned, and what some have called "woke", mathematics curriculum in the state of California. In the link below you can find the framework for the mathematics curriculum from the California Department of Education.

In the framework, race, gender, and socioeconomic levels play a massive role where they have not before. The use of genderless pronouns are encouraged. Students are not encouraged to pursue accelerated math courses, because the builders of this framework, do not want this too exist. In an open letter, over 1000 STEM professionals have signed their name to request that this framework be rejected. They list certain details that will drive a focus off of learning math, and onto learning "social justice".
