AB 331

This bill makes Ethnic Studies a graduation requirement for High Schools in California. It's mandated model curriculum is filled with social justice ideas.

RESULT: VETOED SEPTEMBER 30, 2020


AB 1266

This bill would require that a pupil be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.

RESULT: PASSED JULY 3, 2020


SB 277

This bill eliminates religious exemptions for getting certain vaccines for students in the traditional K-12 public and private school system.

RESULT: SIGNED INTO LAW JUNE 30, 2015


SB 1004

Allows minors to confidentially get abortions, birth control, mental health treatment, with their parents' insurance.

RESULT: PASSED SEPTEMBER 27, 2018


AB 493

Teachers: in-service training: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning pupil resources.

RESULT: PASSED ON OCTOBER 12, 2019


SB 17

Requires the state government to address racism as a public health crisis.

RESULT: PASSED ON JUNE 30, 2021
