The LAUSD "Wellbeing Centers"

The Los Angeles Unified School District has partnered with Planned Parenthood to bring Wellbeing Centers to several high school campuses throughout the district. According to the LAUSD website, these centers "offer youth-focused health and wellness education and preventive health care that is accessible to young people on their high school campuses". In the link below, you can see at exactly what campuses LAUSD has these centers.

Planned Parenthood made the announcement that they would partner with LAUSD in December of 2019. The announcement stated that "each Center is also staffed by two DPH Master’s level Youth Educators, who will facilitate classes, support groups, and activities aimed at equipping teens with information about substance use prevention, behavioral health, and sexual health, as well as the skills they need to have healthy relationships, protect their health, and plan for the future".

These "Wellbeing Centers" are apart from their 21 "health centers" throughout the city and are apart from Planned Parenthoods education outreach program, as seen in the image/link below:

Planned Parenthood is committed to engaging teens on topics of sex and gender identity, whether through its own use of curriculum for Comprehensive Sexual Education, these Wellbeing Centers, and other "community" settings.

The LA Schools with Wellbeing Centers

Some of the schools on the LAUSD site have listed the Wellbeing Centers on their own school website (not all of the schools have mentioned the centers, regardless of the LAUSD page stating that they had a center on campus). Other schools have only mentioned them through announcements or have posted the Teen Call Line flyer on their webpage. The Teen Call Line is a part of the Wellbeing Center and is a phone line to make appointments or ask questions of Planned Parenthood. The following links will take you to each school's webpage that contains some language on the centers or a flyer announcing the centers for the school.
