AUTHOR(S)/SPONSOR(S): Assembly Members Bill Essayli (R-63) and James Gallagher (R-3)

SUMMARY: Requires schools to notify parents if their child identifies as a gender that does not align with the child’s sex on their birth certificate and other records and/or is using sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, or using facilities such as restrooms, showers, and locker rooms of the opposite sex.

STATUS: REVIVED - Amended and re-referred to Assembly Education Committee (Hearing TBA)
