The Fight for Parental Rights in California

California has become a legislative war zone as parents try to regain their rights in public schools. Radically pornographic books and school policies that prevent teachers from telling parents when their child requests to be treated as an opposite gender are the major issues confronting parents across the state. What was once a partnership between parents and teachers to ensure that their child has a stellar academic education has become a sharp division where schools seem to believe that a few years in college give them the right to dictate, not math, not science, but the morality, ethics, and highly sensitive topics surrounding sexuality without parents consenting or even having knowledge of such teachings being taught in the classroom.

What used to be an age-appropriate discussion that explained male and female anatomy and scientific consequences of sex, has dramatically warped into intensive curricula that explain several ways of engaging in sexual behaviors, teaching that sex in all explicit forms is morally acceptable, and that many students in the classroom are likely trapped in the wrong body and can transition to becoming another gender – all at an impressionable age, without parental approval, and most times, without parental knowledge. They then look up in amazement when parents discover what’s being taught and want to remove this perversion from the classroom.

Unfortunately for parents, such perversion goes by another name now: inclusion. Under state law, curriculums must be inclusive and our legislators and schools have decided that inclusion means including every type of sexual perversion possible at every age possible. If that surprises you, then just look up the curriculum being taught at any elementary or high school in California.

As parents try to protect their children from this outrageous perversion, they are now encountering another obstacle, members from the highest level of government. California Governor Gavin Newsom has called the efforts of these parents to rid their schools of pornography, Orwellian style ‘book bans,’ and he has vowed to support keeping these perverse books in schools in the name of inclusion. California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, tried to bully the CVUSD elected school board for voting to implement a policy that let’s parents know when their child requests to be treated as a different gender. Newsom appointee, California Attorney General Rob Bonta recently opened an investigation into CVUSD’s policy.

The California State Legislature has introduced the following bills:

AB 665: State-Sanctioned Kidnapping

AB 957: Gender-Affirmation in Child Custody Disputes

AB 1078: State Control Over Local School Boards

SB 596: Silencing Parental Free Speech

AB 5: Training Teachers to Profile Non-LGBTQ+-Affirming Parents

Parents desperately need to wake up to the reality that their parental rights are under attack because their children are under attack. The only obstacle preventing the full unrestrained perversion of children are parents who care enough to intervene. Parents, if you do not stand up to protect your rights today, you may no longer have rights to defend. Make no mistake, children will pay the price for the apathy of parental inaction at such a crucial time.
