Every plan offered on our site is for new customers only. This means if you are currently a customer with "ABC energy" we cannot sign you up with them. You must switch. This is the reason we ask you which retail energy provider you are currently with, so we exclude their plans from our search result.
However, some retail energy providers take it a step further and exclude plans from anyone who has been a customer in the past 12 months and some go farther and exclude plans from people who have EVER been a customer. It's a terrible way to do business, we know.
If we run into this problem when we are signing you up with a new provider we will stop the process, find the next best plan for you, and email you a recommendation for the next best plan.
