Migrating your direct debit payments to Rechargly ensures a smooth transition while maintaining customer billing continuity. This guide outlines the steps to prepare for the migration, communicate with your clients, and submit the necessary requests to your current provider.

By following these steps, you’ll avoid disruptions and ensure compliance with the required processes, including maintaining existing mandates and properly mapping billing information in Rechargly.

What’s required:

  1. Rechargly account

  2. Stripe account that’s connected to Rechargly

  3. Invite the Rechargly team to be the administrator of the Stripe account (optional)

Process:

  1. Notify clients 14 days in advance that you’ll be adopting Rechargly, and if possible, migrating their billing information.

  2. Email support to request the migration of BECS and ensure the mandates are not cancelled.

Hi Support,

We want to migrate part of our direct debit payments from [Vendor] to Stripe and we need your assistance exporting our customer data.

Here are the details and our specific requests:

1. Customer Data Export:

  • We need the direct debit information for our [# customers] customers on your platform.

2. Maintain Two Billing Platforms:

  • You will not cancel any mandates. Some customers will remain on [Vendor] for specific transactions (e.g., accounting/bookkeeping).

3. Communication of the Migration

  • We have communicated this change to our customers. They will also be notified when we move the billing information to Stripe.

4. Proposed Process:

  • You provide us with the direct debit billing information and mandates.

  • We will do a Bulk Transfer in Stripe to move the client billing information.

  • When the billing information has been shared, will not cancel any mandates.

  • We will separate the billing of our accounting/bookkeeping/other services in [Vendor], and software related invoicing will be done through Rechargly.

Please confirm if you’re comfortable with the proposed process above.

Best regards, [Your Name] [Your Position]

3. Receive billing information and share it with vault@rechargly.com

If you require assistance with your migration, please contact the Rechargly team.
