How To Add A New Customer In Rechargly

Customers only appear in Rechargly after you’ve created their first invoice in Xero Blue.

If you can’t find a customer in Rechargly, it’s likely because they haven’t been invoiced yet in Xero Blue.

Why is this happening?

Rechargly pulls customer data from Xero Blue’s contact list — but only once a draft or approved invoice has been created for that contact. Until then, they won’t show up in the mapping.

How to add a new customer

Follow these steps to make sure your customer appears in Rechargly:

  1. Open Xero Blue and go to Contacts.

  2. Click New contact and enter the customer’s details.

  3. Create a draft invoice for the new contact (it can be for $0).

  4. Go to Mapping in Rechargly.

  5. Open the dropdown menu and click Re-sync contacts.

Your new customer should now appear in Rechargly within a few minutes.

Still not showing?

Sometimes Xero is a bit slow to update. If your customer still isn’t showing:

  1. Open the contact in Xero Blue.

  2. Click Edit, change any detail (even adding a full stop is fine), then save.

  3. Re-sync from Rechargly again.

This forces Xero to recognise the update and helps Rechargly pull the contact through.
