You can create a custom job state in Practice Connect so that jobs sync correctly with Xero Practice Manager (XPM). This ensures that the job status you see in Practice Connect matches the custom categories you’ve set up in XPM.

Steps

  1. Click Define Job Settings.

  2. Scroll down to State.

  3. Select Custom State.

  4. Enter your custom category.

    • Make sure it is an exact match with XPM, including spelling and spacing.

What This Does in Practice Connect

  • When you define a custom job state, Practice Connect will mirror that state from XPM.

  • Any jobs in XPM using this custom state will now display in Practice Connect under the same category.

  • This ensures your job reporting and filtering in Practice Connect aligns with how you track work in XPM.

Once set up, jobs will move into the custom state automatically whenever they’re updated in XPM, keeping both systems in sync.
