When a cost appears in the Unmapped tab of Practice Connect’s Cost Table, it means the organisation hasn’t yet been linked to a billable client. You can fix this by mapping the organisation to the correct client.

Steps

  1. Find the organisation linked to your unmapped cost.

  2. Map the organisation to the correct client.

What Happens Next

  • Once mapped, the cost will automatically move from Unmapped to Pending Action.

  • From Pending Action, you can choose one of the following:

    • Send for tracking – send the cost for client tracking and billing.

    • Track as non-billable – track the cost but exclude it from billing.

    • Don’t track – ignore the cost completely.

Why This Matters

  • Ensures no costs are missed in tracking.

  • Maintains a clear record of which client each cost belongs to.

  • Prevents billing errors later, saving time and avoiding client disputes.

Once mapped, your costs will always flow correctly into the next step of your billing process.
