Member Online Access

Most associations using Core allow their members to access their account online to make payments and register for programs. If members started their account online their login is automatically associated with their membership unit. Below are some of the options that users are presented with when first accessing their account online.

It's important to understand an online user is not the same as a member or a unit. An online user is a login combination that grants access to the system and may or may not be associated with a unit. A unit may be associated with zero, one, or multiple online users which will grant access to the unit.

Login Options

1) When they know their credentials

This is the easiest of the scenarios. All members login with an email address, unlike Core staff users that can login with a username. If a member (or any Core user) has forgotten their password you can use the Forgot Password? link to reset their password.

When resetting a password an email is sent with a temporary access link. If you submit multiple reset requests. Only the last link will grant access.

2) When they are in the system but have not created any online access

The great majority of members in the system do not have online credentials but the second option on the login screen allows them to link their member or participant membership to an email and a password. If members are trying to do this on their own the system will ask for the birthdate as well as the member ID, barcode, or last name of the member who wishes to create a login. It's important that you verify with the member who will be generating an online login that their birthdate and email address on file are correct.

3) Members creating new accounts

Members can create new accounts, select membership types (including non-member/participant), and add additional members under one account. Sometimes members create a new online account and on the next step, they realize they already have an account. Below are some ways you can help members gain access to their account.
