Rate Plans
Some programs fees have multiple options that need to be selected at registration times. Rate plans are tracked differently than discounts and you should evaluate your needs before setting up the program to use rate plans vs discounts. For example, rate plans display the dollar amount paid/owed as the original amount while discounts display as an offset from the original.
Set up a rate plan in a programs
Rate plans are set up at the division level and you must enable it before they can be set up. To enable find the registration Fees and Settings section and check the box for Use Registration Rate Plans.
Once in use, on the last page of the program registration, available rate plans will show up as a drop down above the payment summary before completing the registration.
Available Rate Plan Types
By Session: Allows you to change the dollar amount of each session to the amounts specified. It's a fixed override to the default settings. Most common scenarios are different childcare rate options where the registration is the same but the amount is different.
Daily: Allows you affect the registration amount based on the day selected at registration time. The most common scenario for this is childcare programs where it's a dollar amount for the week but members can choose to pay a daily rate per day.
Monthly: Allows weekly registration to be a flat monthly amount. For example, if you allow your child care participants to pay a flat monthly amount regardless of how many weeks there are in a month this option will automatically calculate the correct price at registration time. Using the 'Force same day billing' option will set all sessions to be billed on a set day each month.
Flexible: Allows you to type in the amount per session at registration time. This is used for situations where the price varies often and can be set per registration.
By Session with Day Selector: Allows for a by Session type that also includes a day selector for which days will be attended. Price does not change based on which days or number of days are selected.
Every type allows you to select whether or not the member has the rate plan online. Also, you can choose if the rate plan can have a Qty option to serve as a multiplier at registration time; this is most common for programs like personal training where it's helpful to do a quantity of 3,4,5, etc.
Rate Plan Capacities
Each rate plan can be assigned a maximum capacity. This capacity will apply to all sessions. At the bottom of the Rate Plan section there is the ability to share capacity between rate plans. For shared rate plan capacities, a registration for one rate plan counts as a registration for any linked rate plans.
Example: Childcare Program with Before School care, After School care and Both (Before and After care) rate plans where the capacity to the Both rate plan is linked to Before School and After School. A registration to After School care would count against the capacities for After and Both, and a registration to Before would count against the capacities for Before and Both. A registration to Both would count against the capacities for all 3.
