RecView’s mobile app allows you to record phone calls directly from your Android device and seamlessly sync them with your CRM. This guide will walk you through setting up call recording, understanding the legal protections in place, and how to get your recordings into RecView for transcription and analysis.
RecView uses Android’s built-in call recording feature, meaning three things:
Your legal bases are covered, as the receiver is notified of the recording (don’t use products that don’t do this—it’s illegal and no one wants to get sued)
No VoIP required—you use your mobile line as normal, no dial-in bridges or dodgy internet lines, and your own number shows on caller ID
Next-level audio quality—system-level capture delivers crystal-clear sound. If you can’t hear the other side, there’s a good chance our AI can’t either
To get going:
Download the app
Open the Google Play Store, search RecView (we’re the first result—watch for autocorrect to “Review”), and tap Install.Login
Launch RecView and sign in with your RecView email and password.Record your call
Make or receive a call in your phone’s default Dialer (Google Phone, Samsung, MIUI, etc.).
Tap the Record button on the in-call screen (or open ⋮ → Record).
Please note: the person on the other end will hear a system prompt notifying them the call is being recorded—a good thing, since it keeps you compliant with legal standards.
We recommend letting them know in your own words beforehand, e.g.:
“If it’s okay, I’m going to record this call so I don’t have to take notes—thanks!”
You’ll find most people are fine once you explain why you’re recording.
And finally, sending to RecView and your CRM
After the call ends, open RecView → Recordings, tap your latest file, then hit Share → RecView (or Send to CRM).
If you include an email address, we’ll link the transcript to that contact in your CRM automatically.
If you’re out and about, you can add the email later in RecView and we’ll sync the transcript then.
Like with videos, you can apply our templates or your own to generate summaries, write-ups, or detailed notes. And as always, use the Ask AI chatbot to get anything else you need!
