Redlist's visibility logic allows users to control when questions are displayed to users. This overview explains how to set up both static and conditional visibility logic. To configure a questions visibility on a form, first go to the form builder and find the question to configure Visible logic on.
Conditional Visibility Logic:
There are two options for setting up conditional visibility logic based on answers to other questions or user permission levels.
Visible "When" Logic
To set up conditional logic based on answers to other questions, follow these steps:
Step 1: Set the "Visible" dropdown to "When"
Step 2: Select the question that the current question's visibility is dependent on
Step 3: Select when the question should be visible.
If a specific answer is required for the current question to be visible, set the "Answered with" dropdown to "Any of the following answers (specified below)" and select the relevant options.
Note - If the question the visibility is dependent on is a dropdown question, the dropdown question will need to be opened by clicking on the "Edit" button on that question. This will ensure that the entire list of options in the dropdown shows when selecting when the question should be visible
If the question is to be visible when no answer is given, set the "Answered with" dropdown to "No answer (Question is left unanswered/blank)".
Step 4: Click "Done"
Visible "For" Logic:
To set up conditional visibility based on user permissions, follow these steps:
Step 1: Set the "Visible" dropdown to "For"
Step 2: Select the individual employees or employee roles the current question should be visible to
Step 3: Click "Done"
Static Visibility Logic:
To set up static logic for visibility, follow these steps:
Step 1: Select "Always" or "Never" from the "Visible" dropdown.
Step 2: Click "Done"
Note - if you want the question to always be visible, it is not necessary to set the visibility logic for a question to always.
