Redlist's form builder allows users to prepopulate questions with information from their account. This can save time, ensure data accuracy, and update information in the user's account. Two types of data that information can be prepopulated for are assets and clients.

Prepopulating Asset Information:

Step 1: Add an asset dropdown question to the form

Step 2: Add a text question to the form

Enter the name of the information to be prepopulated into the Question Label field.

Step 3: Associate the text question to the asset dropdown question

Step 4: Click on the "External Source Properties" button

Step 5: Select the information to be pulled in from the database from the dropdown

Now when a user is filling out this form, this new question will prepopulate with the information for the selected asset. If the information is wrong or needs to be updated, users can enter in the correct or updated information and the database will be updated with the new information for that asset.

Exceptions:

Asset types, makes, models, classes and locations are prepopulated using dropdown questions, not text questions. To prepopulate this data,

Step 1: Add a second dropdown question to the form

Step 2: Associate the second dropdown question with the asset dropdown question

Step 3: Pick the information to prepopulate from the "Use Existing Items" dropdown

This information will now prepopulate when an asset is selected
