Redlist provides the ability to create custom fields in several different parts of the platform, such as Assets, Asset Components, Component Tasks, and Timers. Custom fields allow users to capture specific information that is not included in the default fields available in Redlist.

When creating a custom field, users can name the field and select the data type that will be used to capture the data. The available data types include text, email, number, date, time, and dropdown. The dropdown data type provides the added benefit of allowing users to customize the available options in the dropdown menu. This provides a great way to standardize and organize data across different tasks, assets, and components.

Users can also determine whether a custom field is required or not. By making a field required, users can ensure that important information is always captured when creating a new task, asset, or component. In addition, users can select which subsets of assets, components, and tasks the custom field will apply to.

Any custom fields created for asset, asset components, or component tasks will be visible to user in the Android and iOS mobile apps.

Custom fields in Redlist provide a flexible and customizable solution to capture and reference important data. By allowing users to tailor the platform to their specific needs, custom fields can help streamline workflows and increase efficiency. Whether you need to track specific details about assets, components, or tasks, custom fields in Redlist make it easy to capture the data you need.

Note - Redlist plans to expand custom fields to other areas of the platform. As custom fields become available in other areas, this article will be updated to reflect those changes
