How to set up your tripod

What you need to set up your tripod.

  1. Your tripod (preferably Manfrotto 269BU) or similar height tripod that you own.

  2. Your tripod mount (preferably Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Head Quick Release Plate)

  3. Reeplayer Next-Gen camera

  4. Sandbags or sandbag.

Step 1: When you receive your tripod package, locate the bolt at the bottom. You'll need to unscrew it. While a screwdriver works best, don't worry if you've left it behind—something as simple as the end of a pair of scissors/key will do the job too.

Step 2: Watch our extensive how-to set up your tripod video.

The camera featured in the video below was our beta version. Please continue watching to understand the fundamentals—it will be the same with our next-gen camera 👇

Additional tips and tricks

Mount Angle Adjustment

Try to tilt your mount down by about 22 degrees using your iPhone's measure app for guidance. It's not about precision but ensuring a slight downward angle.

Next time you’re at the field, just attach the camera—already fitted with the plate—directly to the tripod mount. You’ll hear a click when it’s secure. Before raising the tripod, double-check that both the grey and golden levers are locked in place.

Sun Behind You

Place the tripod next to the midfield line 10-15 feet way. You want to preferably keep the sun behind you.
