A Broadcast is a scheduled Report push for specific Recipients (e.g., email the “Weekly Overview” Report to,, and every Monday at 10:00AM in a PowerPoint format). There are two options:

  • Enclosed File : This type of Broadcast is a great way to send your Report as an attachment (PPT, PDF, or XLS).

  • Inline Mail : This type of Broadcast allows you to share your Report right in the body of an email so that your Recipients don’t need to open any attachment.

Calculated Metric

A Calculated Metric can result from a Relation (or calculation) between several Metrics or from the use of statistics formulas.

Column Set

In the editing mode of a data visualization Widget, Columns are distributed across one or several sets, thus allowing you to duplicate either single Columns or Columns Sets as well as editing the Data Input which applies.


A Component can be an Advanced Condition, a Date Range or a Data Source. A Component can be added and applied to any Report. They can be edited from the right-side panel at the Folder and Report levels.

Note that the inheritance principle applies to the 3 kinds of Components: Advanced Condition, Date Range, and Data Source.


The Condition feature gives you the ability to sample your data. Depending on the Data Source, a Condition may be a Filter or a Segment.


A Connector is what allows you to activate a Data Source and associate it to your Reeport account to then fetch data. Most Connectors are built using the Data Source’s API (e.g., Google Analytics, AT Internet, Weborama).


Dimensions are what allow you to categorize or order your data (e.g., date, product ID, acquisition channel, etc).

Data Input

The Data Input is made of two components: the Date Range and the Data Source.

Data Source

A Data Source is a file (e.g., CSV file) or account (e.g., your Google Analytics account) which can be used to feed your Reports.

Date Range

A Date Range is a timeframe applied to a data-set. You may use one of the default Date Ranges or create your own.

There are 3 types of Date Ranges:

  • Simple. Example: from July 1, 2016 to July 3,1 2016.

  • Floating. Example: last 30 days.

  • From Date. Example: since July 1, 2016.


Display options (available from the side panel) allow you to fine-tune the design of a Page or Widget.


The Export feature allows you to download a Report (or part of it) at any time in the format of your choice (PPT, PDF, or XLS). This feature is available is the side panel.


A Filter is a Condition allowing you to include or exclude data based on their attributes.

What’s the difference between a Segment and a Filter? 

While a Segment is applied before data is being fetched, a Filter is applied once the data is fetched.

Inheritance principle

Reeport relies on an inheritance mechanism. By applying an Advanced Condition, a Data Source or a Date Range to a Folder, all the sub-elements (Reports, Sections, Pages, Widgets, Metrics Sets, and Metrics) will be impacted. It is however possible to override or lock the Data Input settings at any level of the app for full flexibility.


The Library is the place where you’ll find the list of Components (Data Source, Regexes, Data Ranges, Custom Dimensions, Conditions, and Masters) tied to your Organization.


A Master is a template which may be used as a Report’s background. Masters in Report work very much like themes in PowerPoint or Google Slides.


An Organization is the top level of Reeport’s tree structure. An Organization may contain several Folders.


A Page is located under a Section and may contain several Widgets. Feel free to adjust the dimensions of your Pages to make them PowerPoint-friendly or dashboard-like.


Permissions (under the “Admin” tab) is where you can view and edit the user access rights for your Organization. There are 5 types of access rights:

  • Admin :  With the Admin access right, one can rename and delete an Organization. The Admin access right is at the Organization level only.

  • Share : With the Share access right, one can create, edit, delete and (de)activate a Broadcast.

  • Manage : With the Manage access right, one can invite Users and edit their access rights at the Folder or Organization levels.    

  • Edit : With the Edit access right, one can create, edit, and delete Reports (and all their components) under a given Folder or Organization.    

  • View : With the View access right, one can only view (without editing) Reports. This access right can be given at the Folder or Organization levels.


A Recipient is an email address registered to receive a Broadcast.


A Regex (REGular Expression, sometimes called a rational expression) is a sequence of characters that define a search pattern. Use a Regex if you need manipulate, filter or check for a sequence of characters.


This feature allows you to build Calculated Metrics (or custom Metrics). From the editing mode of a data visualization Widget (accessed by double-clicking a Widget), you’ll see that all the data Widgets are based on a table made of at least one row and one column where columns are Metrics and rows are Dimensions. There, you’ll see that it is possible to turn a Metric into a Relation, i.e. to run a calculation between other Metrics fetched from one or several Data Sources.


If column A shows the number of visitors and column B shows ad costs per visitors, you can simply create an A*B relation in column C in order to get the total cost of every ad campaign.


A Report is located under a Folder and may contain several Sections. It can be made of 1 or several Pages. A 1-Page Report can be useful if you’re looking to put together a large dashboard for instance while you can also create a 100-Page Report for your quarterly business review.


A Section is located under a Report and may contain several Pages.


A Segment is a subset of a population (or audience).

What’s the difference between a Segment and a Filter?

While a Segment is applied before data is being fetched, a Filter is applied once the data is fetched.


When creating a new Report, you can select one of the default templates or create your own. There are three default Templates:

  • Presentation – great for PPT exports

  • Dashboard – great for larger and vertical formats

  • Mail – great if you are planning to share your Report right in the body of an email (aka Inline Mail) rather than as an attachment


A Widget is located on a Page and may be compounded of several Data Inputs.

There are several types of Widgets:

  • Content and design: Text, Image, Shape

  • Data Visualization: KPI, TableBarchart, H-Barchart, Linechart, Areachart, Donutchart, Radarchart, Treemap, Sunburst, Bubblechart, Scatter plot, Gauge chart, Funnel chart, Geomap

Text Widget

Text Widgets allow you to add text freely.


Text Widgets can be dynamic. For instance, type {{page_name}} in the Text Widget so the name of the Page is automatically input.
