Refersion offers two-factor authentication to add another level of security to your account. Upon enabling this feature, users will be prompted for a special code delivered to a mobile app, every 30 days, as well as enter a code when making certain changes to their account.
Before turning on two-factor authentication you will need to download the Google Authenticator App on your smartphone.
Google Authenticator App For Apple Users
Make sure that your phone is connected to the internet whenever you retrieve a validation code.
After the app is installed, click on the Profile section in the dropdown menu on the top-right of your screen.
From there click the Enable Two-Step Authentication Security button.
Then enter your password and click Next in the pop-up window. From there you will be taken to the following screen. Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone scan the barcode square or enter the displayed code in to the app.
Hit Next. After successfully connecting your Refersion account to your phone’s Google Authenticator you will see an Authentication Enabled pop-up with a secret backup code. Keep this code in a safe place, as you will need it to verify your account if you do not have access to your phone.
Your two-factor authentication is now enabled. Now, whenever you are prompted for an Authenticator Code inside Refersion, you will need to open the Authenticator.
To disable two-factor authentication head back to the Profile screen and find the Disable Authentication link. You will need to enter the Authenticator Code from the app OR the secret backup code that was created when turning on the two-factor authentication feature.
