Social Media Manager — FAQs & How Automatic Posting Works

Amplify your customer reviews and share them across your networks

What is the Social Media Manager?

The Social Media Manager takes the hassle out of managing your social media by automatically posting content to your connected accounts.

Once set up, it can publish your:

  • Reviews

  • External Reviews

  • New Listings (For Sale)

  • Just Sold properties

Supported platforms include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and Google Business Profile (where supported).

Why use the Social Media Manager?

Maintaining an active social media presence helps build trust with potential clients, but creating and publishing content consistently can be time-consuming.

The Social Media Manager automatically posts content at your chosen schedule, helping you stay active online without the manual work.

Setting your posting schedule

To configure your posting schedule:

  1. Go to Social Media Posts from your dashboard.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Choose whether you want to post Daily or Weekly.

  4. Select your preferred posting time.

How often will it post?

  • Daily: One post per connected social media channel each day.

  • Weekly: One post per connected social media channel each week.

Only one piece of content is published per channel at each scheduled posting time.

Social Media Manager Posting Rules:

Reviews

Reviews are always prioritised:

  • Your newest review is posted first.

  • If a new review comes in before your scheduled posting time, it's posted that same day.

  • If there are no new reviews, the next most recent eligible review from the last 365 days (that hasn't already been posted) goes out instead.

  • Only Recommended reviews (3 stars or higher) are posted.

  • Both verified and unverified reviews can be published.

  • Unverified reviews post without star ratings.

Preventing a review from posting

If there's a Recommended review you don't want shared publicly:

  1. Go to Manage Reviews.

  2. Turn off Publish Externally before the scheduled posting time.

Once a review is published to a third-party platform, it needs to be removed directly on that platform — RateMyAgent can't remove social media posts on your behalf.

External Reviews

External Reviews only get used once there are no remaining RateMyAgent reviews from the last 365 days waiting to post. If you receive a new RateMyAgent review afterward, the scheduler will prioritise that instead.

External Review requirements

  • Only 4- and 5-star external reviews are posted.

  • You can't exclude individual external reviews — this feature is either on or off in your Social Media Manager settings.

For Sale posts

A property is eligible if it:

  • Was listed within the last 14 days

  • Has not been marked as Sold, Ended, or Result Reported

  • Has not already been posted to that social media channel

Just Sold posts

A property is eligible if it:

  • Was sold within the last 14 days

  • Has not already been posted to that social media channel

Please note: If the sold date was received from a public data source more than 14 days ago and is only confirmed later, it will not be eligible for automatic posting.

Office profiles

When using the Social Media Manager on an office profile, content is selected randomly from recent office activity.

Since only one post is published at each scheduled time, not every agent's listings or reviews will necessarily be shared through the office's social media accounts.
