If your ID photo keeps getting rejected, it's usually a quality issue. Here's how to fix the most common problems.
Check the photo quality
Blurry? Hold steady when taking the photo, or place your phone on a stable surface.
Glare or reflections? Move out of direct sunlight or away from glossy surfaces. Tilt the ID slightly if needed.
Cropped? Make sure all four corners of the ID are visible in the frame.
Too dark? Move to a brighter spot β natural daylight works best.
Try a different angle
If you've been holding the ID up to the camera, try laying it flat on a dark, plain surface and taking the photo from directly above.
You'll get a few tries
You can retake the photo if it doesn't get accepted on the first attempt. After 3 attempts, you can tap Verify ID Later to keep moving through your application and complete this step afterward.
Still not working?
If you're confident your photo is clear and your ID is one of the accepted types (driver's license, state ID, or U.S. passport), reach out to support β there may be an issue we need to look at directly.
