๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ How to Connect LoneStar Trackers to the Fleet Tab

Learn the two part process for linking LoneStar GPS trackers to the RFS CRM

๐Ÿ”Œ Part One: Connect Your LoneStar Account

  1. ๐Ÿšš Log into your FleetOne/LoneStar Tracking account

  2. โš™๏ธ Open API Key settings
On the left-hand side, navigate to:
    โ€‹Settings โ†’ API Keys

  3. โž• Create a new API key
Create a new API key and set:

    • Available Vehicles: All Access

    • Available Actions: All Access

  4. ๐Ÿ’พ Save and copy the API key
Once saved, FleetOne/LoneStar will generate an API key. Copy this key.

  5. ๐Ÿš› Open the Fleet tab in RentFlow
Inside your RentFlow subaccount, navigate to Fleet.

  6. ๐Ÿ”— Click โ€œConnect to LoneStarโ€
At the top of the Fleet page, click Connect to LoneStar.

  7. ๐Ÿ“‹ Paste your API key
Paste the API key into the popup window and save.

  8. ๐Ÿ“ก Verify tracker connection
Your GPS trackers should now appear inside the Fleet tab.

๐Ÿท๏ธ Part Two: Link Your Trailers to Their Trackers

  1. โž• Add your trailers manually
Under the manually added section, click Add Trailer.

  2. ๐Ÿ“‚ Find the correct trailer name
This must exactly match what is shown inside your subaccount.

  3. ๐Ÿ“ Copy the trailer VALUE (not the name)
    Inside your subaccount, go to:
    โ€‹Settings โ†’ Custom Values โ†’ Folders โ†’ Unit Names/Types
Then copy only the actual custom value assigned to that trailer.

  4. ๐Ÿ“ฅ Paste the value into the trailer name field
Return to the Fleet tab and paste that value into the Trailer Name field.
You can enter anything you'd like for the description.

  5. ๐Ÿ’พ Save the trailer

  6. ๐Ÿ”— Link the trailer to RideDog
Scroll down and click Link to RideDog, then select the correct tracker to attach to that trailer.

  7. ๐Ÿšฆ Optional: Configure maintenance alerts
After linking trackers, you can optionally configure maintenance alerts with mileage-based service reminders.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip
The trailer name inside the Fleet tab must exactly match the trailerโ€™s custom value in your CRM. This is how the system properly connects GPS tracking, trips, and geofence activity to the correct rental unit.
