What to enter for the item description of the order?

When entering a description for your Reship order, keep in mind that a commercial invoice will be generated with the information you enter.

Please avoid general descriptions such as, “clothes”, “item”, “gift”, etc. Carriers do require specific details of each item inside the package. Entering the correct and acceptable discriptions are essential. Failure to do so may result in a delay or the return of your package due to insufficient customs description.

How it works:

When checking our your package through your Reship account, you will be required to file a package contents declaration. When filling this out, try to be as specific as possible as any errors entered may cause a delay in shipping or processing your items.

Is the declared value per item or all together?

Declaring the correct value of the package is important as this value is used by customs to determine the duties/taxes owed at import.

Reship asks customers to enter in the accurate value of contents for each separate item. This means if you have 2 of the exact same items, worth the same amount, you enter the combined total of both in the Value field.

When filling out the value, select the Currency that best applies to the current location you purchased the item in e(x. USD if you purchased your items in the United States or CAD if you purchased our items in Canada).

If you are unsure about the value of a product or shipment, please do not hesitate to reach out to a Reship Team Member and we will do our best to assist. The value of goods can also be found on your receipt or bill of sale from the vendor or seller.
