Tiers and Levels are progressive rewards your community members can earn by accumulating XP through participation and community actions. By creating a progression system, you can incentivize engagement, recognizing and rewarding members as they reach new milestones.
To set up Tiers and Levels, navigate to your Gamification Settings and toggle them on. Ensure your Gamification System (XP) is already enabled in your reward configuration. If the Tiers and Levels page is greyed out, double-check that the XP system is active. Once enabled, you can start creating a tailored progression experience for your community.
Creating Tiers
Each Tier consists of 3 Levels for members to achieve. Tiers can be customized with a name and icon to reflect your community's branding or ranking system. To create a new tier, click "Add Tiers."
Name Your Tier: Use names that reflect progression, such as Rookie, Member, Captain, or General, to give members a sense of accomplishment as they advance.
Select an Icon: Choose an image to represent each tier. This icon will appear on members' progress bars, in chatrooms (if enabled), and on the leaderboard.
Set XP (Unit) Requirements: Assign the amount of XP needed to reach each level within the tier. Consider your XP distribution rate. For example, if sending a message awards 1000 XP, setting level requirements too low could make progression feel too fast and less rewarding. Each level must require more XP than the one before it, ensuring a clear progression path.
Configure your tiers thoughtfully to maintain engagement and a sense of achievement within your community.
Display Options
After you have configured your tiers and levels, you can decide whether they are displayed publicly in community channels or limited only to leaderboards. If toggled on, levels and tiers will be visible next to each user's username on all community channels, as shown below.
To enable channel display for tiers and levels, simply toggle on the respective option in your gamification settings.
